Since the nineties, active in the maritime and offshore world. The first years it was mainly material and component advice for many technical (process) systems on board and soon the interest in drinking water hygiene was added.
Gradually I have developed into an expert in the field of a safe drinking water installations, where I am involved worldwide in advice or implementation of projects.
My cooperation is on each level. I’m instructing governments, classification societies, ship-owners, yards, engineering companies, etc

20+ years of experience in water quality, treatment and production. As a researcher, process engineer (disinfection systems, reverse osmosis design) and consultant for maritime, offshore and land based objects worldwide.
A background in chemistry, chemical technology and microbiology gives me the right tools and energy to find solutions to many potable water challenges. In the past I have worked with ship owners, yards, suppliers and governmental departments regarding safe drinking water on board, advice on legislation (NIPH, Ship sanitation) and especially to assist and advice during high (potential) risk situations.

Our vessel is large Ro-Pax ferry (1200 passengers and 85 crew in 623 cabins) operating a continuous and busy schedule in the North Sea. It was found that the hot water pipe system was the wrong specification with the plastic pipework progressively cracking and leaking. Jeroen came aboard to make a full investigation and advised us on solutions to the problem. This company knows and understands the local rules and regulations and can advise on materials and solutions to potential problems. We decided to replace the complete hot water pipe system and at the same time improve the design. The work was prioritised so as to reduce the number of leaks as quickly as possible. DWAIS carried out the work whilst the ship was in service without interruption to our schedule. The work was scheduled around our busy periods with each section isolated for new pipes to be installed whilst avoiding disruption to passengers and crew. Jeroen and his team were very professional and always tidied up during and after work. We used a combination of his expertise and our labour to keep costs down. We are very pleased with the standard of work. We have a more efficient and balanced hot water system today compared to the new build specification. It has been a pleasure to work with such a professional, friendly & innovative company. We have used them since for smaller upgrades to our hot and cold water systems.
